So why am I doing it?

I have been a member of the British Army for 34 years during which time I have witnessed many ups and downs.  The Army introduces people to many rewarding, exciting, demanding and dangerous challenges and it is often as a result of these that serving soldiers and ex-servicemen can find themselves in difficult circumstances.  The Army Benevolent Fund is also known as 'The Soldiers Charity', it provides essential support where and when it is needed most.  By taking part in this event is my way of supporting past and present soldiers in need.  They have sacrificed much for the security of our nation, let's join together and help repay their debt.  The ABF website explains more.............

My Mission

To cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats in order to raise much needed funds for the Army Benevolent Fund.  This is also a double challenge as I wanted to do something special to remember being 50 years young and I certainly won't forget this in a hurry.  Some people think I'm mad, others don't know what to think and I'll let you know what I think when it's all over.  Enjoy!!
